John M. Jelavich is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank. Mr. Jelavich, a native of Yuba City, graduated from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in Finance. He spent 22 years with The PMI Group, a provider of credit enhancement to facilitate mortgage lending and securitization. At PMI, Mr. Jelavich served in numerous senior level finance, operations, credit risk management and loss mitigation capacities. In July 2010, Mr. Jelavich and his family relocated from the San Francisco Bay Area back to Yuba City when he joined the Bank. In July 2012, Mr. Jelavich earned his graduate banking degree from the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado, University of Colorado in Boulder.
Luke Parnell is the Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer for River Valley Community Bank. Mr. Parnell has more than 13 years of credit risk management and lending experience. Prior to joining the Bank, he spent over 10 years with Community 1st Bank in Auburn, CA as its SVP, Regional Manager and Senior Credit officer, where he provided leadership in credit underwriting and commercial loan origination. Mr. Parnell is a graduate of Bear River High School in Grass Valley CA, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo CA, and the Pacific Coast Banking School’s Graduate School of Banking at the University of Washington, Seattle WA.
Kevin S. Reynolds has been the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for River Valley Community Bank since May 2021. Mr. Reynolds is a certified public accountant, licensed in the state of California, and has been working in the accounting profession since 2012. Prior to joining the Bank, Mr. Reynolds was a Senior Manager with Moss Adams, LLP, where he specialized in auditing financial institutions. Mr. Reynolds is a graduate of Rocklin High School, and California State University, Sacramento, where he earned his B.S. in Business Administration with concentrations in Accountancy and Finance.
J. Gregory (Greg) Heckman has been Senior Vice President and Senior Lending Officer for the Yuba City Office of River Valley Community Bank for 3 years, and has been a commercial banker for over 16 years. Mr. Heckman is a long time resident of Yuba City and graduated from University of California Berkeley with a BA in Economics and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking in Colorado. He is a former U.S. Navy Officer and a graduate of the U. S. Navy Supply School. He served for many years as the CEO of Avalon Bay Foods, a local food processing company. He holds an active real estate broker's license.
Amanda Connell is the Senior Vice President and Director of Customer Relationships and Operations for River Valley Community Bank. Ms. Connell has been in the banking industry for over 12 years and has currently been with the Bank for 6 years. She started with the Bank as the AVP, Branch Manager and opened the Grass Valley location in 2013. In September of 2019, she was promoted to the SVP Director of Customer Relationships and Operations. Ms. Connell was born and raised in Nevada County and graduated from Nevada Union High School. In September 2019, she graduated from Pacific Coast Banking School’s Graduate School of Banking at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. She also completed the Executive Leadership with Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. Ms. Connell oversees all branch operations.
Steve Berry is the Senior Vice President and Senior Commercial Loan Officer for River Valley Community Bank in the Auburn office. Mr. Berry provides nearly 15 years of experience in Commercial Banking with a focus on commercial lending and credit risk management. Mr. Berry was born and raised in Redding, CA, and attended California State University, graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. In 2016, he graduated from Pacific Coast Banking School’s Graduate School of Banking at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA.
Matt Caplinger is the Senior Vice President and Senior Relationship Manager for River Valley Community Bank. Mr. Caplinger was born and raised in Reno, NV. He graduated from University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration and Information Systems. He has over 16 years in consumer and business banking, finance, and commercial lending and leasing experience. Mr. Caplinger oversees the Relationship Management team for River Valley Community Bank. His team has a priority to provide relationship driven financial solutions to our business community. His team will utilize technology as a function of support, to enhance our business relationships. Mr. Caplinger is on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Placer County and the Newcastle Area Business Association. He is an active member in the community as a positive and professional financial resource.
Carol Corsetti joined River Valley Community Bank October of 2020 as Senior Vice President, Senior Credit Officer. Ms. Corsetti has spent her career in banking, and over the span of 45 years, has worked in almost every functional area within a bank. During the latter part of her career, she focused on lending and credit and has occupied senior and executive management level positions in Credit Administration with both national and community banks. Ms. Corsetti brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to RVCB where she assists the lending team and the Bank to support continued sound loan portfolio growth.
