Required Business Documents
At River Valley Community Bank, we are committed to making your business banking experience as smooth and secure as possible. Bringing the correct documents when you arrive can help make the account opening process much easier and quicker.

Personal Accounts
To open a personal bank account, federal regulations require us to verify your identity under the Customer Identification Program (CIP). You’ll need to provide a valid, government-issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license or passport), a second form of identification (acceptable forms are listed at the bottom of the page), your Social Security Number, and basic personal information including your date of birth and physical address (for all owners/signers). Additional documentation may be requested to ensure compliance and protect against fraud. As part of the process, we’ll also ask you to provide answers to security questions to help us verify your identity when you visit or call us in the future.
Business Accounts
To open a business account, we require the appropriate business documentation, along with a valid primary and secondary form of identification for all owners and authorized signers. Below, you’ll find a couple of questions we will ask and a list of required documents by business type, as well as acceptable forms of identification to help you prepare for your visit. If you have any questions, our team is here to assist you every step of the way.
Questions RVCB will ask:
Beneficial Ownership:
When opening a business account, federal regulations require us to collect Beneficial Ownership information. This means we will be asking who the individuals are that own or control the business, including any individual who owns 25% or more of the company. We’re required to identify and verify these individuals—known as beneficial owners—as part of our compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and FinCEN’s Customer Due Diligence Rule. This process helps promote transparency and protects your business.
Business Account Activity:
As part of the account opening process, we will also ask a few questions about your expected business account activity such as transaction volume, wire transfers, ACH usage, and other services you may use. In some cases, we may request previous bank statements. This helps us better understand your business operations and ensures we recommend the right business account with River Valley Community Bank to support your financial needs.
